New Hours!

Posted by Sarah on May 26, 2008

A funny thing happens when you open a new business - that perfect schedule you came up with is no longer the perfect schedule. You realize that the perfect schedule is the one that your crafters say is the best for them - I like that line of thinking much better. Thanks to your awesome responses on the survey, we have changed our hours to better suit your needs!

We will still offer a variety of classes in the evenings and on weekends plus some daytime classes for kiddos and the work-at-night crowd peeps, but we are combining Gocco Lab and Sewing Lounge time into one night - Mondays!

That way, you can rough it through the workday and reward yourself with a cupcake and some crafts after. The only exception will be when we have an awesome class for Monday nights, but that will be a once in a blue moon affair! Make sure you check the class schedule before you head out just in case…

Starting June 3rd, Sew Crafty will be open for classes and:

Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday Noon - 5 p.m.
Monday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Sewing Lounge/Open Studio Time and Gocco Lab time

We hope to see you there!

Rawr - Etsy Sunday!

Posted by Sarah on May 25, 2008

I love Etsy. Yes I realize this is not news to any of you crafty people out there - it’s practically a requirement as a DIY devotee to love Etsy. Buying handmade helps you support another artist AND get a unique item to boot! It’s a win - win!

Each Sunday, we (the Sew Crafty peeps) will pick out a cool Etsy shop that we want to share with all of you! It’s our way of saying “Hiya! If you are looking for something awesome - here it is!”

This week’s pick is HeLiS - a Turkish seller with a passion for ceramics and makes the coolest rings! I have been looking for a lion ring for a long while and came across this gem when I visited Etsy this morning - yay!

Do you have a favorite seller on Etsy? Let us know!

Ch Ch Ch Changes!!

Posted by Sarah on May 23, 2008

Things - they are a changing!

We are working on our schedule for June, July and August, and boy - is it exciting! There will be many, many more cool classes to take, new Crafty Cocktails projects and we even have a new mascot - Willy the cactus! Willy was a gift from a very talented young sewist, Sofia, who visited this week with her mom Renee and dog, Mr. Pickles the Mayor.

Another big change, based on the results of our survey (thank you crafty peeps!) our hours are going to change too! We will post an update here and send out an email to let you guys know when you can visit! Again, thank you all for participating and letting us know how we can be the best little craft place west of the Mississippi!

Tote Swap - Are You In?

Posted by Sarah on May 21, 2008

It’s fun, it’s free and it’s here - time for the Sew Crafty Tote Swap!

Join us for super fun tote swap - an event where you make or decorate a pre-made tote for another crafter while they make/decorate one for you!

Here’s how you can be a part of our tote-ally awesome swap (yes I know it’s ridiculous that I just said tote-ally):
1) Check your calendar! The craft swap party will be on June 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (wine and snacks - woot!).
2) Send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your name, your favorite/least favorite color and anything of note (examples: I have long arms and need long straps, I hate cotton, please make something with a dinosaur on it because I love them, etc.).
3) Wait for your swap partner email - we will send them out after the swap closes on May 23!
4) Come to the party, get/give your goods and have a glass of wine!
Swapping is so fun - it’s easy, you get to make something and then you get something handmade for you! Join us!
