Hands On Small Business!
My grandmother has asked me if I’m on “The Facebook” before. Or on “The Twitter.” Yes and Yes! It’s so cool to have tools like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr to keep in touch with the people in your community! But how can you create and maintain meaningful relationships with people through the internet, especially when you have a small business?

Enter Hands On Small Business, a series of lectures across the US (in 20 cities including Houston!) to help small businesses and entrepreneurs connect to others through social media. Sponsored by Kirtsy and Microsoft Office Live, these sessions are A) a completely awesome way to meet other business owners, B) going to be so much fun and C) totally free.
Join hosts Monica and Maggie for one of the Houston sessions, including the one on October 12th at Sew Crafty, by registering here! But you have to register to secure a spot, so do that soon!
Gary Needs Your Help!

It’s almost time. Soon, ghosts, vampires and pirates will roam the streets, asking for candy! That’s right - Halloween is coming up soon! And our little Gary needs help deciding what he should dress up as this year - hop on over to Facebook and vote on which costume you like best!
PS: Big ups to Culture Pilot and their rocking Gary costumes!
New Place, New Hours, New Bootcamps!
Hello there peeps!
We’re finally moved in to our brand spankin’ new spot on 19th St. and I’m really excited about all the cool stuff we’re going to be able to do in a bigger spot! More classes, more fun and more drool worthy craft items are already in the works, but we have made a few awesome changes worth noting:
New Hours: Sew Crafty will now be open from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and Sundays noon to 6 p.m! Now when you want to visit we’ll be here!
New Bootcamp: We have just started adding new Sewing Bootcamps for the fall! One improvement that we have made (after some awesome feedback from our students) is to include materials for all the projects (Pillow, Tote and PJ pants!). The price for bootcamp has increased by $15 as a result, but it will be a lot more economical (instead of spending upwards of $25 to get quality fabric for your project, you get it for $10 less!) to get gorgeous fabric from us as part of your class than to hunt and gather on your lunch break! Yay all around!
New Classes: More new classes are coming soon, but some on the agenda are adorable Halloween Cocktail Hats, Workshops on Amy Butler patterns, Mod Kid patterns and some very special holiday classes geared toward getting your gifts made, wrapped and done before someone gives you a Partridge in a Pear Tree…
