Candlelight Crafts

Posted by Sarah on Sep 16, 2008

So the power is out. Since you might be reading this from an internet cafe or friends house or even from your iphone, I’ll keep it to a short and sweet list of some crafty things you can do in the dark:

1. Embroidery: In the days of yore (yore - really?), people could use their handy embroidery needle and thread to embellish clothing, accessories and home decor items.
2. Felt Creatures: You can make some of these awesome little sea creatures from felt and bust out that embroidery we talked about above to make them look amazing.
3. Paper Cutting: Paper cutting is one cool way to get crafty when there’s no power - all you need is paper, a paper knife (or scissors if you wanna go really low fi) and a glue stick if you want to do layers. Super crafty and super simple!

I hope you are all safe and sound today - be careful out there!

Ike’s Gone - Sew Crafty: Still there!

Posted by Sarah on Sep 14, 2008

Hey everyone!

Ryan and I came back home today to see if our house was still standing - it was! We had a ton of trees down, but they somehow missed the roof when they fell (yay!) Sew Crafty is ok, but without power - who knows when it will come back on, so we have decided to shut down this week and cancel the weekday classes. Status update on weekend classes coming later this week!

If you can, take a second to check out the Red Cross and donate to help Houstonians and Galvestonians in need!

Have a safe week!

Ike’s Coming - We’re Closing!

Posted by Sarah on Sep 11, 2008

Well it looks as if we are going to get a walluping from Ike, so Sew Crafty is shutting down for the weekend. We hope to reopen Monday, but who knows! We will email you updates for your classes next week; this weekend’s crafty class peeps have been notified of make up dates.

Stay safe!
