Making a Muslin
Want to make something out of that beautiful fabric you purchases on vacation, but don’t want to jack it up on the first go round? Take the pattern for a test drive by making a muslin.
You might be thinking - isn’t muslin that cheap fabric? Yes, but it’s also the name for a sample garment made from a cheap fabric - so it’s kinda like the “Aloha!” of the sewing world. You might be thinking “Why would I want to make something twice? Seriously - twice?” but it is much better to get it all correct and fit the item to your body (via dress form) than it is to chop up that pretty fabric and make a mistake. Still with me?
