New in the Shop - The Crepe Dress pattern

Posted by Sarah on Oct 18, 2010

My Mother-in-Law’s wedding was coming up in a hurry and I couldn’t seem to find a dress that I loved - until our shipment of Colette Crepe dress patterns came in! I whipped up this easy, beginner-level dress in a matter of hours (with some cheapo silk shantung from Jo Ann’s) and was ready to dance the night away.

The Crepe Dress from Colette Patterns is available in the shop now - grab a copy and make this adorable pattern in time for all the holiday parties you know you’ll have to go to.

Crafting a Year Challenge!

Posted by Sarah on Oct 03, 2010

Hello crafty fans!

If you haven’t heard already, we have a talented community of crafters in Houston. That’s why we created the Crafting a Year Challenge last January - to showcase their talent! Each month, you can submit a project for the challenge to us and we will post it on Facebook. The photo with the most “likes” wins!

Simple right? If you’re ready to enter check out the updated rules below!

Make 2010 your craftiest year ever and take the “Sew Crafty Crafting for a Year Challenge”. Simply commit to crafting each month and enter to win great monthly prizes. Each month’s winning photo will be entered to compete for the grand prize – a Sew Crafty gift card and crafty gift basket along with the title of “Sew Crafty Crafter of the Year” in January!

Not sure what to make? No problem! We have plenty of tutorials, projects ideas and supplies to get you started.

Rules
1. Send a photo of one (1) new project each month to Alanna at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). That’s one (1) project per photo per person per month. Photos must be sent as a JPG, GIF or PNG attachment under 5 MB ONLY – NO links, bmp or pdf files!

2. Photos must be submitted by 5:00 PM on the 5th of each month. (Ex. February 5 at 5 p.m. is the deadline for January submissions.)

3. All submissions must be your own projects. The project can be made from patterns or kits, but YOU must actually construct the project. ( ie. no pictures of Grandma’s quilt or Aunt Betty’s knit scarf).

4. Each month the submission with the most Facebook comments or “likes” wins!

Be sure to tag yourself in your photo and promote your project to your friends so you can get votes! If you submitted your project by the deadline and don’t see it in the album, please contact us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and we’ll get it figured out!
