Power Tie with Jenny Gabriel
Make this tie out of elegant or unexpected fabric and it becomes a true power tie! This unisex pattern can be made for you or for an extra special gift. You will learn to work on the bias, use fusible interfacing, and how to do a gorgeous slip stitch!
Level: Beginners with experience. Student should be comfortable threading a machine and sewing straight stitches.
Supplies:
1-1/8 yd of 45” wide fabric (main fabric),
1/4 yd of 45” wide fabric (lining fabric)
1 yd lightweight fusible interfacing (at least 35” wide)
thread
1/2” extra-wide double-fold bias tape, twill tape, ribbon, or embroidery floss.
Suggested fabrics: main fabric - broadcloth, brocade, calico, chambray, corduroy, denim, poplin, satin, silk, or wool. Contrasting lining fabric - cotton prints or silks
